Pogpin

Good questions, straight answers.

Everything teams ask before they pin their first comment.

Do the people leaving feedback need an account?
No. Share a review link and clients or stakeholders comment as guests right in the browser — nothing to install. Your teammates get full accounts with boards, assignments and history.
How long does it take to set up?
Under a minute for a site you control: one line of code, no SDK and no build step. The widget is a self-contained web component, so there is nothing to wire into your framework and nothing to keep in sync when you redeploy.
How does Pogpin capture context?
Automatically, and it depends on the surface. On a site a pin records the browser, OS, screen size, page URL and the exact element. In a PDF it records the page and the quoted text. On a video it records the timecode and where on the frame you clicked. On an image, a position stored relative to the file rather than to the rendering.
Can I review PDFs, images and video too?
Yes. Upload the file and pin it the same way you pin a page — same threads, same statuses, same board. PDFs keep their text selectable, video comments carry a timecode that reopens the player on that frame, and image pins store their position relative to the file rather than the rendering, so they hold at any zoom.
Do PDF and video pins land on the same board as site pins?
One board per project, whatever the pin sits on. Filter by surface when you want only the video notes, or work the whole list top to bottom — every item has a status, priority and assignee regardless of where it came from.
Can reviewers change the page, not just comment on it?
Yes — that is what visual branches are for. Pick an element on the live page and edit its text, colour, spacing or layout without a deploy and without a code branch. Each change is saved scoped to a state, a width and a theme, so a dark-mode fix stays in dark mode, and the whole branch is shared as a link.
How does a visual change get into my codebase?
Three exits, depending on who lands it. Copy one prompt describing every change in the branch and hand it to an AI agent working in your repo; copy or download the raw CSS; or turn a single change into a tracked task with its selector and its “why” attached. Pogpin never writes to your repository itself.
Does Pogpin check accessibility?
The widget audits the page it is reviewing and filters the element tree down to what is broken: images without alt text, controls with no accessible name, unlabelled form fields, empty headings, tap targets under 24 × 24 px and anything causing horizontal overflow. While you recolour text it also warns when contrast drops below what that text size needs.
Can I review at different screen sizes?
Desktop, tablet, mobile or your own saved breakpoints — and a pin records the viewport it was left at, so a report says “at 390 px” instead of “on my phone”. If you are fixing rather than flagging, a change can be scoped to one width so it never leaks to the others.
Can I use it on staging or password-protected sites?
Yes. Use the embeddable widget or the Chrome extension anywhere you can run JavaScript, plus a zero-install reverse-proxy mode for public and staging URLs — no code changes required.
What if the site blocks injected scripts?
A strict Content-Security-Policy can refuse the snippet and the proxy. The Chrome extension runs as browser chrome instead, so the page policy does not apply to it — that is the path for a client’s production build or any site you cannot edit. For a site you do control, allowing the Pogpin origin in script-src and connect-src is enough.
Where do notifications go?
Slack, Discord, Telegram, Microsoft Teams, Lark, email, Gotify, ntfy, Pushover or a custom webhook. Routing is per event, so each channel subscribes only to what it should hear — a new pin, a comment, an @mention, a status, priority or assignee change — and a pin from a PDF or a video lands the same way a site pin does.
Can I publish on my own domain?
On Pro and up, published docs run on your own custom domain (verified by a DNS record) with the “Made with Pogpin” badge removed — fully on your brand.
Is the free plan really free?
Yes — no credit card. Free covers one active project, two team members and 30 days of feedback history, with unlimited clients and guests. Upgrade only when your team grows.
Do my clients need a paid seat?
No. Clients, reviewers and guests are unlimited and free on every plan — including Free. You only pay for members of your own team.
What happens when I hit a plan limit?
Nothing breaks. We tell you and offer an add-on or the next plan, and existing feedback stays readable. Add-ons ($5/mo per extra seat, $9/mo per 10 projects or 100 GB of proxy traffic) let you grow inside a plan instead of jumping a tier.
Can I change plans or get a refund?
Change any time — upgrades are prorated immediately, downgrades take effect at the end of the period. Annual plans are refundable within 30 days; monthly plans can be cancelled any time and stay active until the period ends.
Where does my data live, and who can see it?
Feedback is encrypted at rest and in transit, the setup is GDPR-ready, and data residency is available in the EU and the US. We never sell customer data. Screenshots can be blurred inside the annotator before they are attached, so customer names and invoice numbers never leave the room in the first place.
Does Pogpin work with my framework?
The widget is a framework-agnostic web component and the extension runs on any site. New pins, mentions and status changes can be routed to Slack, Discord, Telegram and other channels, or POSTed to a custom webhook for your own pipelines.
How do I invite my team?
Invite teammates by email from your workspace settings. Four built-in roles — owner, admin, member and viewer — control what each person can do, and Pro adds custom roles. External reviewers comment as guests with no account and never count as seats.
How is this different from Trello or Jira?
Trello and Jira cards float in a board with zero page context. Pogpin pins live on the real page and still give you full status, priority and assignee tracking — so you skip the copy-paste between a screenshot tool and a separate tracker.
